How to Play Patches

Rules
- Each square or rectangle must contain exactly one clue cell.
- When a clue shows an area number, the square or rectangle must have that many cells.
- Shape hints (square, tall, wide, any) restrict the square or rectangle's proportions when shown.
- Rectangles cannot overlap and must tile the grid with no gaps.
Controls
- Click and drag to draw a rectangle on the grid.
- Tap an existing rectangle to delete it.
- Use Reset to remove all rectangles.
Tips
- Start with clues that have strict shape or area requirements.
- Large rectangles leave less room for the remaining clues — plan the layout early.
